What is the Kansas City Data Summit?

Every year, more than 300 community members come together for our Annual Kansas City Data Summit to hear the truth about how students in the Kansas City Public Education System (KCPES) are performing. Our community sessions bring educators, families, business leaders, civic partners, and neighbors in to learn and review student performance data across the districts.

What student data is included?

Growth, proficiency, equity: the full picture of education outcomes in KCPES. Students are making progress in some areas, and we are not where we need to be in others – both realities are discussed. Participants walk through the data with three questions in front of them: where is student growth showing up in Kansas City’s Public Education System, where are the gaps in student performance, and what are we going to do differently because of what we see.

Our students don’t need us to feel good about the data. They need us to act on it.
