SchoolSmartKC is seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to support our program team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
SchoolSmartKC’s Project Coordinator will work closely with SSKC’s Chief Program Officer (CPO) to assist in the success of the organization’s 2.0 strategy and business plan. This plan centers on building stronger collaborative partnerships across the Kansas City Public School System in order to support greater student success and improvement of education in the KCPS boundaries. Reporting to and in close collaboration with the CPO, this individual will support the implementation of the organization’s strategic vision and provide critical support for both SSKC’s CPO and Program Directors. The Project Coordinator role specifically includes various coordinating duties such as supporting communications, grant/contract review and administrative duties as necessary, including scheduling and supporting the development and monitoring of budgets and timeframes for projects. The role centers on executing various stages of project implementation plans for the 2.0 focus areas. This includes working with Program Directors to develop, create, and support the delivery of presentations and other communications with stakeholders.
Specific Responsibilities include:
- Participate in project design meetings and propose improvements if necessary
- Coordinate projects as defined by SSKC team members, adhering to project schedules and timelines
- Coordinate project-related paperwork by ensuring all necessary materials are current, properly filed, and stored
- Assist with project outputs by reviewing project grants, contracts, and requests for proposals for accuracy
- Communicate with SSKC team members to understand and align project requirements, scope and objectives
- Support the monitoring of expenses to follow determined budgets
- Support the collection, organization, and analysis of 2.0 programmatic outcomes and outputs in partnership with Program Directors
- Provide support for landscape analysis reviews, updates, and communication to outward facing audiences
- Organize public facing documents and presentations for various stakeholders
- Promote collaborative relationships between program areas ensuring connectivity and outcomes for district and charter partners, funders, and stakeholders are consistently met
- Support the team-based environment through continuous engagement with SSKC team, demonstrating collaboration and providing excellent support/service
- Assist in identifying internal and external resources required for completing projects successfully
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
Work Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in project coordination or related field, coordinating multiple projects concurrently. Candidates should possess core foundational beliefs in the value of partnerships in support of youth, as well as strong interpersonal, organizational, research, writing, and communication skills.
Travel: Requires some local travel around Kansas City.

- Knowledge base of schools in the Kansas City area a plus
- Program coordination and/or management skills to effectively support broader SSKC strategy and business plan

- Excellent writing and organizational skills
- Keen analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to multi task across various projects

A competitive compensation package, including base salary and an outstanding benefits package, will correspond to the experience level, credentials, and personal characteristics of the candidate.
