IFF Study Provides Mapping of Access to Quality Schools Across Kansas City

SchoolSmartKC partner IFF, a leading Community Development Financing Institution (CDFI), has released its latest assessment of the accessibility of quality schools across neighborhoods in Kansas City. The mapping, built on state assessment data related to school performance and national norms related to travel distances for schooling, provides a powerful framework to better understand which neighborhoods are in the greatest need for quality schools. Mapping is provided for elementary, middle and high school levels, as well as in aggregate for all K-12 schooling. Information about performance of each school within the KCPS district boundaries is also included in the mapping.

SchoolSmartKC leverages this data and other sources as it considers needs in our school system and efforts under each of our three strategic areas. IFF’s mapping of Kansas City schools can be found here.
