SchoolSmartKC (SSKC) is a charitable, non-profit organization that seeks to support significant improvements in the performance of schools in the Kansas City Public School system. With substantial funding from key investors including the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, the Hall Family Foundation and the Walton Family Foundation, SSKC aims to close the performance gap between students in our local District and Charter schools and their higher performing peers across the state of Missouri and the nation. Our efforts are designed to build common purpose within our local community, including parents and families, district and charter schools, resource providers and others to ensure young people reach their incredible potential. Working together, we seek a school system that in ten years will have more than double the current percentage schools showing performance on par with the state on key educational measures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
SchoolSmartKC seeks to hire a Part-time Administrative Coordinator to support our work. We also have expressed interest from other educational organizations working in Kansas City that could use administrative support and might separately contract with the Coordinator for similar support alongside of SchoolSmartKC’s engagement of the individual.
Roles/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Receptionist
- Calendar management
- Meeting management and conference room scheduling
- Creating and/or editing MSOffice documents
- Data entry into CRM systems
- Budget/expense tracking
- Monitor partner requests
- Office support for two organizations
- Volunteer and project management
- Assistance with travel arrangements
- Assistance with event prep and set-up
- Electronic filing
- Receiving mail/packages
- Performing errands as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred. Other degrees and/or relevant experience will be considered.
Work Experience: At least 3 years relevant experience in administrative or other related roles. Candidates should possess core foundational beliefs about the importance of supporting students and the educational institutions that support them, as well as strong interpersonal, organization, writing and communication skills.
Note:
Requires some local travel around Kansas City in the execution of job responsibilities.
This opportunity has the option of working remotely from your Kansas City location.
